In the short time we’ve been together, however, I’ve had numerous complications with my little car and am now terribly disenchanted with what I always thought was stellar “German engineering.” In my own defense, I am NOT rough on my cars, I take care of my stuff, and I have a 12 year old custom Harley that’s in pristine condition.
Usually, in vehicles that have a hatchback style trunk (with an open seat back) you will find the anchor on the back of the seat and sometimes in the ceiling (for the middle seat position). If the trunk is closed, you typically find the anchor spot behind the headrest. I know you will be tired, but installing the seat properly is very important. If the person picking you up doesn’t know whet to find the anchors in their vehicle, ask them to look it up in their manual as soon as they can.

The 80 200/4 AF S VR is also very good I have that one at work and if you know you never need/want f/2.8, it is worth looking at. The old 80 200/2.8 AF S was very good but they all had motor issues and there were no parts to fix them anymore so unless something changed, I avoid them. There also the 80 200 AF D but that a manual focus lens on your D3500. If you need even more reach, there the 200 500/5.6 VR. I let someone else give you the rundown on the other 3rd party lenses and there all sorts of options if you want to spend a lot of money on lenses.
Gas is cheaper in the US, yet cars have way worse MPG. In Europe, it is not uncommon to have a car that does 40 mpg and the propaganda that states that European cars are trash is just not true. A BMW in Europe with a 2.0 L engine has a 4.0 L engine in the US, yet it drives the same. The only difference is the MPG. Of course the fuel is a lot cheaper in the US, but it works out almost the same when you take into account the efficiency. I first became interested in this topic when i bought a 3.5 L Ford Taurus that does 20 mpg. The first time I filled the fuel tank i noticed an advertisement on the inside of the petrol cap. It read “Use BP fuel”.
I really am not a vain person. I’m not into status symbols just for the sake of looking like something I’m not. I don’t know fashion and I don’t go to all the hip clubs. Ugh, I went to Babies R us and tried car seats and out of the 12 that I liked, NONE of them fit in the rear facing position in the center of the back seat. I had to put both front seats so far forward to get the baby seat at 45 degrees that there was no way for me to get in behind the wheel (I’m tall, so I need the seat about 2/3rds of the way back). I called 3 bmw dealerships and they could not care less. Now I know I will not be buying another BMW for my next car (customer service is important), but what should I do now?

3 weeks ago the starter motor went, and thanks to the way the new headers run I had to remove the left side instead of just undoing three bolts and a plug on the starter itself. New starter in and exhaust back on, car tries to start now but has a very slow crank. I jump start it and check the charging voltage, it 12.8V, I figure my alternator must be bad and give up until next weekend.
To summarize, the Cayman R is a purist’s dream when it comes to performance cars. Despite having the lowest horsepower of the 10 cars on this list, it laps the Nrburgring in 8:06, faster than the Ferrari 550 Maranello, the V10 powered BMW M6, and the Lamborghini Diablo SV. The R makes up for being a low powered car by weighing as close to nothing as you’ll find in a modern car. That means excellent acceleration, braking, and handling. The Evora maintains all of the downsides that are present in nearly all Lotus cars, namely the complete lack of practicality. The cabin is small and not particularly ergonomic, the footwell is very tight, and visibility is limited.
Someone eventually pays for it.It was, as the experts here knew, the 12V battery. Replaced on warranty, and all is well.Lingering issue is the battery died in 30 months and 8500 miles. If that an expected life, I hope there a source for non OEM batteries at some point. Near as I can tell, no one else sells a battery that fits/works in the i3.Otherwise, this is a great car.

I made the point that BMW cars are by and large not cheap therefore they can make EVs today since they don play in the same price points like Dacia for example which has a legitimate reason why they can mass produce compelling EVs in 2019 due to the price of batteries and other components. Sure they could make some shitty 20 kWh, takes 2 days to charge, can go over 80 kph golf carts but nobody wants those shitty things on the market since they are not mainstream machines. A well engineered electric BMW today can be mainstream and the costs to make it happen are already cheap enough. It not cheap enough to enable 70 kWh, >100 kW charging, 3s from 0 to 100 kph Dacia Sandero EV, but cheap enough for a $60000 BMW with those exact specifications.
That being said, I think almost no one has a problem with people who use the assistance programs properly. Although I have never had to use assistance as an adult, my mother did for a short period when we were children. My father had died, my mom was penniless, she had been a housewife for 10 years, went through a brutal divorce immediately before my dad passed away, she had three children and in the early 80s it was still kosher to discriminate against women in hiring in most fields.
Post warranty repairs are tougher to determine. There no information for the Tesla. But Civics are generally incredibly reliable, with little that can go wrong. In the Model 3, there seems to be even less that can go wrong. But would the Model 3 really cost less in out of warranty repairs? Powertrain aside, I find that hard to say because Hondas are so incredibly reliable.
Despite having installed an L2 charger. I never actually needed that charging speed. Most of my driving happens close to my house (about 35 miles per day, if I average it out), and the car is pretty much always topped up when I jump into it in the morning.So. should you get an L2 charger? I still say yes, because fast charging is nice.

As I understand it the i3 had a lot larger depreciation than most other early electric cars. I don remember the research I did at the time tbh and my number was just spitballing, but early electric vehicles had a large depreciation due to the steep annual improvements in the tech, and on top of that, the BMW had even larger depreciation from other early electrics. In addition to that, the new i3s now are in a bit of a different competitive situation, since there is so much more competition in the new electric car space, so my guess is they have to be more competitive on price. So if you look at depreciation from a stand point of what can I get now new vs used for the same car, you totally right. From the perspective of what the 2015 cars are going for used vs what they cost in 2015, that a different story. Since we wanted to buy used at the time (though looking back I kinda sorta maybe wish we had just sprung for a model 3) the depreciation was attractive relative to other used options we were looking at
But why go for the Factory Five kit over another company? Well, how about over 10 years of building and developing experience? Or, the fact that it has its own race series? I think the fact they have over 6,000 happy customers should clinch it for you, but if not, how about the $20,000 kit price?
So what do you need on top of the $20,000 asking price? Not much really. Of course, you need the engine, transmission, and rear end. There are plenty of brand new or second hand options on that. You need original Ford headers, but not the rest of the exhaust. You need wheels and tyres, but there are so many options as this car uses the Mustang bolt pattern. Next is paint, which, once again, is totally up to you! Last, you need a fuel pump and battery. All in all, you could build one up for $25,000 upwards.
Luxury cars just don have the appeal to us that they used to. I don need the shit I thought I used to need, and I don even really want it. Seems like the cost is exponentially higher for a moderate amount of luxury features. There just isn any value there, but I guess that really isn their goal either.But thank you, and noted.
